The Wombats, the chart-topping indie-pop heroes from Liverpool, announced the release of the Extended Version of their sixth studio album, Oh! The Ocean, which serves as a deeper dive into the sonic and emotional world of the original record. The extended edition features the full original tracklist alongside a collection of new songs, offering fans a fresh perspective on the band's most sonically ambitious work to date.
The original album, Oh! The Ocean, released in February 2025, sees the band move away from some of their previous synthetic sounds to embrace a more natural and human approach. The album title itself was inspired by a revelatory trip to the beach by frontman Matthew "Murph" Murphy, leading to a collection of songs that grapple with social anxiety, internal strife, and the tribulations of Los Angeles life.
